Mandani Valley trek is considered as one of the major challenging trek in Royal Garhwal Himalayas. This is a part of the lost trail within Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary which connects two famous Hindu shrines Badrinath and Kedarnath. Connecting Madmaheswar trail to Kedarnath at Chorabari Glacier, the origin of river Mandakini.

Highlights of this trek are lush green meadow with full of beautiful colour flowers -Mandani Bugyal, Yeonbuk Col (4,663 M), Mahapanth col (4,602 M), Bishali Col (4750M) , breathtaking views of Chaukhamba(7272 M), KedarNath Pea(6940 M), Kedar Dome (6,831 M) and wide range of Himalayas flora & fauna.

Many mythological stories associated with the Mandani Bugyal trek. According to one story Mighty Goddess Durga killed Mahishasur and buried him into the earth at this place. After that, she took the shape of the rock and decided to sit on him forever. That rock is presented at same place. According to others ancient story, It is believed that Pandavas passed through with same place during their journey to Swargarohini. The ancient temple presence is visible in Mandani Bugyal near Usha River.

Mandani Valley Kedarnath Trek Mandani Valley trek during rainy season full of beauty and surround by Himalayan wild flowers but sometime due to heavy rain crossing Mandani River is risky, River water is too cold because is coming from directly from Glacier and even water force is on full swing, sometime it can be easily can cross if weather is clear. MAndani Valley Kedarnath Trek Thauli Top is one of the attraction point of Mandani Valley kedarnath Trek, from here we can see clear view mt. Choulamba and Buda Madhmaswer, 360 degree valley view of kedar valley is unforgettable. Here we can see some shepherd huts and their loyal Himalayan dogs.Shepherd follow rules of nature and they have different set of rules and they follow it sometime they tell us to follow it.

There are gardens of flowers in both side of Mandani River, during full swing of river difficult to cross so need to rope up every one. Every Mansoon season there is yatra of Goddess mandani from Ransi Village, Villagers takes part in this difficult yatra and do pooja here.

Day 1: Ransi to Saniyara (5 kms trek

We will have our breakfast and the trek begins from here. The trail will pass through the meadows taking us to Saniyara at an altitude of 2850 M.

Day 2: Saniyar to Paturi (7 kms trek)

We will ascend the trail here leaving Saniyara behind and the trek will proceed to Paturi at an altitude of 3300 M.

Day 3: Paturi to Thouli camp

we will Trek from Paturi to Thouli camp 3865 M, via Thouli top 3920 M in 7 to 8 hours. Night stay will be at Thouli camp.

Day 4: houli to Dagla Bugyal

The Trek will descend from Thouli camp 3865m proceeding towards Dagla bugyal 3505m via Dwara Pass and Dwara Top at an altitude of 4150m. It will take 6-7 hours to reach Dagla Bugyal..

Day 5 : Dagla Bugyal to Mandani

We will trek from Dagla Bugyal 3505m to Mandani valley 3550m in 4-5 hours via Dubra Top 3750m. The magnificent Mandani valley can be explored for rest of the day. The camp will be set here for night stay.

Day 6: Rest Day

Day 7: Mandani Valley to Yembuk base

The trek ascends from here and goes up to at Yembuk Col Base camp (4130m). This will take 6-7 hours..

Day 8: Yembuk base to Mahapanth base

We will Cross the Yembuk Col Base camp to reach Mahapanth Col base camp at an altitude of 4450m. The trail will go through Bishali Col (4750m) to Mahapanth Col Base camp (4450m 2hrs) taking 7 to 8 hours.

Day 9: Mahapanth base to Kedarnath.

We will trek to Kedarnath (3380 M). Night stay in Kedarnath..

Note: – Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

Necessary Items for trekkers

Backpack (50 to 60 liters)
A strongly built backpack with good support is compulsory for a trek. (Rain cover is important)

Sturdy Trekking Shoes
The shoes should be strong enough with good support. The people ask if sports shoes would be comfortable but it is good to bring the right trekking shoes.

The Clothes You Should Bring On a Trek
Avoid keeping extra clothes because it only makes you backpack heavy.

Trek Pants – The jeans are never suitable for a trek so you need at least 2-3 trek pants for treks carry more for longer treks.

Jacket – Jackets are very important to carry on a trek it protects you against the chilly weather. So carry 2 jackets on a week long trek.

Layers of warm Clothing
Carry warm woolen layers or fleece. Carry more layers during winter season (at least 2 to 3) and less during summer.

Thermals – The Temperature decreases at night so you might be need thermals for Night.

T- Shirts – Bring those t shirts which dry fast.

Poncho –They are needed if you are trekking on a Rainy day to keep you dry.
